We sat down on some cusioned seating and waited a bit. No menus, no waitress, so we went to the self service bar and got some drinks. Then she arrived while we were half done and very rudely told us it's not a self service area and we need to move. Fair enough to have designated sections but be nice about it and either serve people or let them help themselves but no need to be nasty to tired hikers who already paid.
Pros:|Amazing View and areas for hiking and enjoy nature. The cable car that takes you up and down does frequent trips which is convenient. ||Cons:|The shared bathroom and shower situation is not for me. |The mattresses are uncomfortable.
This is a review only for the cafe at Berghaus Niederhorn. This is a mountaintop restaurant offering both a self-service cafeteria and a full-service sit-down option. We chose the cafeteria, which had a surprisingly good selection of high-quality food—from traditional hot dishes like pasta to lighter options like sandwiches and salads. The salad was fresh, and even the fish fry and chicken nuggets were quite good. There are also plenty of drink options, including half and full bottles of wine, beer, and soft drinks. The service was friendly and helpful. Both the cook and cashier spoke English. The best part is the outdoor patio. Every table comes with a spectacular view of the mountains and the cable cars moving up and down the mountain. Seating is very spacious (indoor and outdoor). A great spot to relax and enjoy lunch after hiking around the Vorsass area or just taking the cable cars to the top.
The animals behave themselves better to other animals. That's how bad these assh... In this restaurant are. I came late at the evening, unfortunately suddenly there was, heavy storm, they told me at the beginning you are a tourist, we have only food for guests, the food was awful for what you pay and without a reason expensive.... But what made me write this review is this.... Ehen the time was to close the restaurant the told me get out. But out was a hell, no seeing due to the fog, heavy rain, I was not good prepared. They told me we close get out. I asked for a room and the answer was you haven't spoken to the manager, so we can't give you one. Fuc.. Bricks, animals that behave like the horses that don't see and understand anything except what they have been told. The conclusions are yours....
Great location, but awful "self-service restaurant" ... Lowest possible quality food at "elevated" prices. When I was young, we called this "Mensa-Frass". Rösti, made hours ago, reheated, bone dry and tasteless... Kalbsbratwurst, no, not even a tiny little bit fried, just heated in the oven. Pitiful. Thinking about the foreign tourists, "enjoying" Swiss hospitality - it is shameful. Hint: Get something to drink and enjoy the wonderful view!
Stunning views from all directions!! Hike along the ridge to comfy lounge chairs and watch the world go by below. Worth a look in sun, as the clouds roll in (sometimes below) and at night (especially loved watching the trains below all lit …
