The staff is incredibly friendly. The shop in the old halls is truly inspiring. The fact that production is being completely outsourced and switched to new, different technologies is frustrating. The consequence is that what was available before will no longer be available.
I ordered four plates from the Langenthal online shop, and they charged me €99 – all within reason. The package took a while to arrive; I ordered from Austria. Then I received a message from the post office saying I had to pay an additional €61 for customs duties. The company couldn't reach anyone by phone, so I contacted them via email. They explained to me that I should have known that customs duties apply when ordering something from Switzerland. This is stated (in brief and general terms) in the terms and conditions. I didn't accept the package. After several weeks, I received a refund of €35.96 = a loss of €63.04 for nothing!!! What a shame about the beautiful product; customer service is a different story.
Great new cool shop! In the old distillery
I'm a porcelain painter and I love buying and painting Langenthal's white porcelain. It's top quality. Even second-hand porcelain doesn't crack when fired at a high temperature of 780°C.
Ordered cutlery from one of their suppliers in January 2021, with the remaining delivery due in mid-June 2021. Very poor communication from the responsible clerk. I asked repeatedly about the status of the delivery. It gave the impression of being very incompetent. My customer was quite upset – understandably so.
