I was in Camp with my Gymnastics Team, and overnighted here for 6 nights and 7 days. I did not spend much time here, but the time I was here wasn’t very slay, I didn’t enjoy it very much. Every time we came in, there was a weird smell, like of 6 or 7 cigarettes, the windows didn’t close properly, because of 6 or 7 cables leading from the room, to the outdoors for some reason. You could hear 6 or 7 cars zooming all night, it felt horrible. There wasn’t a hair drier, nor a floor towel for the shower, which was very tiny and slim, the bed was very noisy, it squeaked every time you moved 6 or 7 mm and there was a denture with only 6 or 7 teeth, and 6 or 7 dents in my mattress. 😔 They never made our beds. There wasn’t anybody in reception in the evening, nor at morning like about at 6 or 7. There were stickers and dents on the walls. The breakfast buffet was never opened. The hotel really felt abandoned, the main doors didn’t lock, so they were always open. People were laughing in the halls, at 6 am with 7 minutes, like about 6 or 7 times, and they were screaming 67. A lot of spiders in the room as well, maby 6 or 7. With that said, I guess it sounds bad, and yes, I wouldn’t recommend it, but it’s definitely not the worst out there. And of course we’re still young, (6-7 years old, and our trainer 67 years old, and we were 6 gymnasts and one trainer wich made us 67) and it doesn’t have to be the hotels fault, but it is, and with the whole creepy vibe, all of us had “hallucinations” In one of our rooms, there was a painting of 6 to 7 cats, which didn’t look inviting, and now comes the scary part, at night, one of us had trouble falling asleep, a.k.a. Me, and I was staring at the painting of the cats, but I could only see the eyes, and it seemed really scary. I also am a Medium tho (I sometimes can see and communicate with the dead) and my roommate is coincidentally quite emphatic (feels spirits) and later that night I saw a cat, like a shadow, and so did she, and later I also saw a shadow of a man, doing the 67 emote, so the hotel is most likely haunted you know? I also sleepwalked at night, like 6 or 7 times, which I don’t usually do. I fell of the bed at night like 6 or 7 times to, (the ghost that pushed me, is still with me, because I fell of my bed while writing this review about 6 or 7 times) and because I was probably possessed, while falling asleep, I hit my friend, the empathetic one, in the face and broke her nose. (I hit her in the face about 6-7 times) I’m just saying. I mean iykyk. Oh and something that’s also not to forget, the letters of the hotel on top, were led, and the L was not lighting, so you could only read hote. That’s just how we experienced this beautiful hotel 🥰 Good’aye mate, ✌🏼out 67 8 town Praise the lord Amen 🙏🏻
One of the most depressing rooms I've ever stayed in. So tiny I kept hitting my leg on the edge of the bed when going to the bathroom. No one speaks English well (which was fine for us but not for other guests making requests). The room didn't look like the pictures listed online at all. The lighting was horrible, like something from the 70s, and the room stank of cigarette smoke. There was no air con and no lift, both of which were difficult to deal with in the summer. Breakfast options were minimal, and 2 other sets of guests told us they had essential items missing from their rooms (hair dryer and towels). When housekeeping came, they didn't even make the beds. On the second day, we had no bath mat. The only advantages are that the hotel is cheap for Zurich and is close to a bus stop. It was fine to stay in for two days because we barely spent any time there, but we definitely wouldn't return. I wanted to like it, but couldn't.
A hamburger was GOOD, actually was very good. I thought it is an Italian restaurant, saw many having pizza and pasta, but I just didn’t fancy them but MEAT! I usually don’t order something that are not typical of restaurant but I ordered a …
One of the worst pizzas I have ever tried, the dough has a chewing gum texture, totally different ingredients than those selected, more than an hour of waiting, I will not order from this establishment again nor would I recommend it.
The hotel is conveniently located within a very short walking distance to the bus stop in a peaceful neighbourhood . We had booked a suite no 205 which was clean and spacious with a very nice bathroom. The wifi connection provided was very good. The breakfast served is good although a change in the menu would be welcome. The food in their restaurant is very tasty and service is quick with a smile. The ambience is warm and cosy. The hotel staff are very courteous, polite, amicable, and very resourceful. I read a few reviews which mention that finding a cab here is difficult. We booked an Uber on three occasions and they all arrived within no time. Besides, as I mentioned, the bus stop is a short walk away. The best part is my daughter got ready as a bride in our room for her wedding held recently!! Zur Au will always hold a special place in our hearts! We would love to visit again and stay in Zur Au! Auf wiedersehen, we leave back home to Mumbai, India with beautiful memories of our stay here!!
Rooms fine with too many stairs. Confused about breakfast, opened late. Fine dining in restaurant but calling a cab nightmare. Two did not show so turkish chauffeur took me.
