Stunning views by lake Biel. Very clean and tidy facilities. Public jetty. Boat trips available. Location ideal for exploring the many attractions in the area. Ligerz and Erlach villages nearby are walkable. Good food to be had in smart friendly restaurant.
We slept a night there on a bicycle tour and it was really nice. The camping was fully busy but we could anyway come, there are some places which they don't book and you can stay with your tent for at most 3 nights.||||They also feature a laaarge playground for the children with all sort of stuff, and of course the beach is there :-)
Really honest opinion based on our visit there Pro's: - support staff really friendly (except for the manager) - close to the lake - city provided playground is really great, but it's not on the campsite Con's: - car must be parked on public parking which is extremely busy when the weather is nice and you may end up waiting for a long time to leave your car (which cannot be parked on the campsite) - manager - threatened to call the police on us when he didn't see payment (already blocked on my credit card) in his system and wanted us to pay again which we refused to do. It was payment before long weekend (by the time we got home on Sunday that payment was already processed) - sanitary facilities - too few showers/toilets for such a big campsite. No hot water after 20:00. - no fence around the campsite which is next to huge public beach and lake, so anyone can just walk into your parking spot - no campsite fireplace/grill. There is only one available on the public playground
Probably the best campground within the three lakes. I like the clear water without seagrass. It is clean, well maintained and organized. Staff is friendly and competent. Check-in/check-out times are rather late/early, and the place is a bit pricey.
This spot on the lake is impressive. It is a fantastic playground with the coolest equipment for kids; see the images. It has a sand and stone beach, a grill, and because it has a campsite, there is also a restaurant and most you need. You can also walk to St. Peters island, but it is a long walk. Also, the boat is coming, which you can take.
Very nice camping. We were here with a medium camper van and snatched up one of the last spaces last minute. So it's probably best to book a little in advance. The amenities for hygiene and dish washing etc are very clean and closed off, so it's warm in there even off season. I had a shower at 10 pm and there was hot water too which is great. There is a modern washing machine and tumble dryer and a freezer to use. A little shop with the most important things and fresh morning's bread. A little bistro too. And be sure to check out the Restaurant next door (Du Port) with its amazing fish and chips!
