Don't miss out on Bergrestaurant Bussalp- it doesn't get any better! This restaurant has been completely renovated- and it is gorgeous! Absolute perfection. Small local artisan touches everywhere- carvings, embroideries, photos...And the view is incredible- the large, sheltered terrace looks directly onto the entire face of the Alps. Gorgeous! The food was exceptional-I had barley soup that was clearly homemade, substantial, wholesome and delicious. The portion was substantial and, served together with homemade bread it made for satisfying delicious lunch. Others in our party had equally exceptional, homemade cuisine- an air-cured ham sandwich, a vegetarian Roesti, all followed by fresh homemade cakes, and steaming hot creamy cappuccinos, with flavorful delicate homemade cookies. All served by our super friendly and efficient local waitress- the lady who also bakes the cakes for the restaurant. This is one of my favorite places in the Grindelwald area- go and enjoy it!
Nice people and service, good food and a breath-taking view from the restaurant. Recommended !
This gem is perched high up on a sunny terrace with a stunning view over the Grindelwald valley directly onto the high Alps. The restaurant is cozy and very Swiss; the food delicious and the service very friendly. One of our favorite places - don’t miss it!
We came here with the special bus plus dinner trip that was offered by Grindelwald Bus in July 2024. The bus ride was a real adventure, on a mountain road that is barely wider than the bus itself. At 20 CHF, the return fare for this journey was less than half of the regular price. The food selection in the restaurant was limited, with mostly meat options. Cheese fondue was practically the only option for vegetarians. You can make a short walk from the restaurant to a view point, or you can start walking down along the road and wait for the return bus to come by and pick you up to return down to Grindelwald. A nice experience and recommended!
A nice self-service restaurant with a limited menu (this could be because it was summer) and a great view. The one staff member we saw was very pleasant and served us quickly.
If you like to take pictures and go on introductory hiking trails, I recommend the Eiger ultra trail. From First there are many trails to choose from, about 3 hours follow the Bussalp sign to Bergrestaurant Bussalp with beer and snack food, and there is a bus
