What can I say. The first time I had ever skied on snow and I loved it. From the moment we arrived at the ski equipment hire shop at the bottom of the mountain, next to the cable car, everyone was so helpful. The guy in the shop was patient and knowledgeable to ensure we had the correct kit. Even left our bags in the shop to collect later. From my time on dry ski slopes I could manage blue slopes. My daughter and I couldn't get to a second blue slope without going down a red slope, which was scary as I'm inexperienced and saw a sign warning of the crevise 🙏 Once past that with a fall, great fun on the slopes and lifts. The rest of our party remained on the nursery slope, with 2 out of 3 managing a blue run too. Really could do with a slope with a skill level between the nursery and blue slopes. Great service in the restaurant for drinks and some of our party said the food was lovely there too. I would def return in the future.

lovely ski day, here a detailed review arrival: Since it was a saturday, I expected it to be kinda crowded. Arriving at 8:40am I gladly got a parking spot right next to the Rotenflue gondolas. I wanted to combine Mythenregion with Hoch Ybrig since the two ski areas are connected, but sadly there is no combi ski pass available. Only option is the Skisafari ticket, but that only allows 1 lap on a small selection of lifts. So I bought a day pass for Mythenregion and an afternoon pass for Hoch Ybrig (got expensive though). Ski area: Taking the Rotenflue gondolas up, there was clear sky and everything below 700m was under a thick layer of clouds. On Rotenflue you have a wide scenic view. The ski runs are surprisingly empty and there were no waits at the lifts. The runs on top are a bit on the shorter side. The black 36 Stägleren was very enjoyable and did multiple laps, the short blue to Alp Rotenflue is very scenic and also dont miss the blue 32 on Holzegg with the amazing view at Grosser Mythen. The red 30 down to Brunni is one of the longer runs in the area and is very fun and also tends to be pretty empty. The ski route 22 from Zwäcken to Brunni is longer but feels very drawn out, its more for chill slow skiing on a forest trail. The runs on Brunni are sure not to be missed out, especially the upper section on Haggenegg with the scenic view. The ski runs here are also very fun with good variation. To return to Holzegg you take the small cable car, which might also have some waiting. The Brünnelistock runs are very nice. this section seemed better for beginners though. From here you can also take the Skisafari run down to Laucheren (Hoch Ybrig). Without hurrying, both ski areas with its best runs can be easily explored in one day. Verdict: ++ scenic, almost "romatic" landscape + calmer, more "laid back" feeling/atmosphere compared to other areas, especially for a saturday + variation (shorter runs on Holzegg/Rotenflue, long valley runs to Brunni, fun runs on Brunni, good beginner areas) ~ not much expert terrain - no combi pass for both Mythenregion and Hoch Ybrig - valley run on Rotenflue very rarely open -> return via lift

I love this place. It is not only good for skiing, but it has a very nice route for walking and show-shoeing.

Beautiful scenery and nice ski slopes. There are some issues that I want to warn people: 1. We bought tickets via sbb freizeit and loaded the ski passes on the swisspass, however the swisspass doesn't work on the t bar lifts (the first 2 we tried). This is probably a common issue and the staff just told us to exchange into the ski card. So we had to go to the gondola station to exchange for the ski cards, which took some time, and paid 5 fr deposit for each card (total 10fr. for 2 cards) Very strangely, at the end of the day, when we tried to return the ski cards to the rotenflue talstation, the staff refused one of the two ski cards, because it was from the ibergeregg (but we got both of them from their colleague at the bergstation!) So we lost 5 Fr. deposit... But all other staffs we encountered were very friendly and nice. 2. Another issue is about the ski area map- which were very poorly designed - we were quite lost in the first hour and just randomly ski around - there were some clouds so we cannot use the mountains to orientate. The slopes were not marked with numbers on the map. while there are occasionally slope numbers on the signs at some junctions, the numbers aren't on the slope itself and not on the map, so no idea what they refer to. We wanted to go from rotenflue to the ibergeregg area but just could not figure out the way after multiple attempts, and had to give up.

I really wanted to love this place as i moved to the area recently, but i found it very disappointing to ski, the runs are all short, even the longer runs on Brunni only have t-bars (you get so sick of the t-bars) and its not a very friendly place to get around if you dont know it. They don't actually put numbers on the tops of the runs are its not clear which run you're on, also its not super east to get from one hill to the other two, its like the lifts are 50m to short, almost like this used to be 3 different resorts at one time. For beginners it will do the job but for anyone else i think Stoos has much more to offer which is only next door.

This is a great place to go if you are learning to ski or with a family. For snowboarding it is not ideal because of the T bars. You can also save a little here by just getting a ticket for part of the mountain and not the whole thing.
