We were hired by the building insurance company following a water damage claim to replace some sections of solid oak parquet flooring. Unfortunately, it was a very negative experience from start to finish. In short: - Beni Holzbau inspected the house and the floor; they stated that the planks needed to be beveled on the ends and that they could certainly manage it. - Then, one morning without prior notice, a subcontractor suddenly appeared at our door with 30 square meters of parquet planks cut to size. - All the planks had beveled ends; they stated that this was standard practice (aha, thanks Beni, super organized...). - The color was completely unrelated to the original, but we were reassured that the final result would look perfect after oiling (Rubio Monocoat). - After the work was completed, we still complained that it looked like a botched job, and again we were given the same placating advice: wood expands and contracts, and we should wait a year. ... Well, the result is still unsightly after a year. I absolutely cannot recommend Beni Holzbau in any way; whether they were overloaded at the time or not is irrelevant; it was simply an utterly unprofessional service. He was difficult to reach throughout the entire project, didn't seem to feel responsible, and in the end, he probably just pocketed the hefty referral fee. The fact that the entire job was ultimately done by an apprentice or at least a complete beginner was the icing on the cake :).
