Wegmann's BnB — Landstrasse 29, 8450 Andelfingen, Switzerland

I was here for a short business trip and this nice Swiss B& B met all of my expectations. Great location in a sweet village run by friendly and helpful people! They have vineyards and make their own wine (yummy) bake your breakfast bread and have a little shop ( Hofladen) full of local produce, assorted wines and fruit brandies! The room was clean and cosy with a shared bath and shower. My only wish is that the breakfast could have been a bit more robust. Perhaps the other guests ate up much of the coldcuts and cheese selection?! I plan to stay here again because it really was a nice place to hang your hat

We first arrived on the way to Rheine Falls to drop off our luggage around 3:30pm. No one was in sight and we rang the doorbell and no answer. No big deal, we left to go to the falls and returned later at 6:30pm. We checked our booking and checkin was not until 6pm which is very late. Still no one was around this place at all. We rang the doorbell again and waited. Finally someone showed up to let us in the room. Our interactions with the hosts were positive. Be aware, you have to pay the taxes here in CHF/Euro. No credit card or USD, so plan accordingly. No tea kettle or coffee maker in the room. Like most places in Switzerland, the room has no AC, so you have to leave the window open. We brought small USB fans which I highly recommend if you travel to Switzerland in the summer. Our room was facing the surprisingly busy street. The room was clean, but small and traffic noise was quite loud (all night long). The room was hot so we had to have the windows open and there was a lot of traffic for such a small village passing this Bnb. There was no shampoo or body wash for the shower, luckily we had packed some. The sink soap dispenser had only a small amount of hand soap in it. The towels were not soft at all and felt like sandpaper. Breakfast after our sleepless night was just ok and consisted of bread, jelly, deli meats, cheese, some fruits and cereals. Under the BNB is the hosts walk in area for people to get fruits, eggs and other things I guess they grow on their land. I was kind of surprised there were no eggs with the breakfast since they were selling them under the BNB. For the price, it was not what we expected at all which was more of a quiet farm type stay. We basically got no sleep all night long on our night before went to the airport for a very long travel day.
