During my recent trip to Switzerland, I had the chance to dine at Mekong Restaurant in Stans—and it was a pleasant surprise. Nestled in a quiet part of town, the place offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with just the right blend of modern touches and Southeast Asian charm. I tried their Pad Thai which were flavorful and authentic. The balance of spices was spot-on—rich, but not overpowering—and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the vegetables had a nice crunch that added to the texture. Service was friendly and efficient. The staff made sure I was comfortable without being overly attentive, which I appreciated. The food came out promptly, and I never felt rushed even though the place started filling up as the evening went on. Prices are reasonable for Switzerland, especially considering the quality. I also noticed a good mix of locals and travelers dining there, which is always a good sign. If you’re in the area and looking for a break from typical European fare, Mekong is worth a visit. It’s a great spot for anyone craving well-executed Thai or Vietnamese dishes in central Switzerland.

Little gem with authentic cooking. I got a take away from the warm buffet - Thai red curry. For vegans, it’s a nice place that you could enjoy rice or noodles. The owner was friendly Nice packing for take away Flat rate for take away CHF19 plus with a drink of your choice

Strangest "buffet" I've been to. I found out you have to pay more for extra items. That is not called a buffet where I'm from. Also, everything was covered and I don't understand German, so when I asked the lady again to show me what was under the lids she got really upset and started shouting dramatically and left my plate to go to the back because she was "busy" taking orders. Another lady who was kinder took my order. I was taken aback by the woman's unprofessional and rude behaviour. No one apologised for it and later she came to ask how the food was. I said the food was nice and asked if she was okay to which she said that I asked too many times to see the food. I explained that I don't understand the German menu and everything is covered so I can't remember what food they have... Still no apology. Extremely rude! It's not acceptable to work with such a bad attitude and spoil people's day especially those who are on holiday. The food is nice but that female server is miserable and rude who will cause the business to drop their profits.

High quality asian food, with a reasonable price. I only wish they had one more servant, but never mind, we had a good time anyways!

I did not take pic because the service was terrible. They told us they were closing. However, we got there one hour before closure. The food was ok, for what they had left on the buffet.
