📍 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐮̈𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐫, 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 🇨🇭🏰 Fundado originalmente como priorato cluniacense alrededor del año 1080, Münchenwiler se transformó en una residencia noble después de la Reforma y se reconstruyó en el siglo XVII. Combinando orígenes medievales con elegancia barroca, ha servido como mansión, internado y, en la actualidad, un hotel tranquilo y lugar para seminarios rodeado de jardines y árboles centenarios.

Buena ubicación exterior. Pero esperaba más autenticidad de un castillo interior. Me decepcionó que las habitaciones no estuvieran en el castillo, sino en otro edificio moderno. Mi habitación era pequeña al igual que el baño. Tan pequeño que mis rodillas tocan la pared cuando me siento en el 'trono'. (Soy una persona alta). Oye, pero mi cena fue excelente y el desayuno también.

This is a beautifully restored and enhanced old "castle" with a lot of charm. The property and setting are stunning and the food served here is quite good. The big letdown is with the hotel rooms. The place's monastery past comes through …
Nice surroundings with a well maintained castle. It is located quite far from the main attractions in Murten old town (30 min walk) and you need a car. The guest house has very small rooms hence ok-ish for one night. Not more. The breakfast is simple and also ok.
