This organization has two extremely well maintained stream locomotives and carriages from the turn of the 20th century that are available to ride on specific dates in the spring and summer. Check the website for the detailed plan. I recommend boarding in Hinwil and traveling to Bauma and watching the train restock coal and water for its return trip, then enjoying Cafe Konditorei Voland for a refreshment before taking a later train back. A round trip costs 40chf for adults.
Nice experience! For adults and kids. We took as well the buffet option and we enjoyed also see food. It's tipical Swiss plate with cheese and some meat.
Best place for steam enthusiasts in the region!

A wonderful experience to ride on the steam train. Thanks to all the volunteers who made this experience possible. I had reserved seats in the buffet car, but the only downside was that all the croissants were sold out on the first (!) trip from Hinwil to Bauma. It would be nice if this offering were expanded. Otherwise, it was a truly beautiful day. Highly recommended 😊
