The food here is very delicious, and the restaurant is decorated in a cute and cozy style. The restroom is spacious and clean, and there is parking available. However, there were a couple of things we weren’t very impressed with: 1. We had made a reservation in advance, but when we arrived, the staff said they couldn’t find our name in the system. Fortunately, there was still a table available. 2. The staff didn’t seem to pay as much attention to us, as Asian customers, compared to other tables. Other than that, we really liked this place overall.
We stayed for two nights and learned that there is no AC at this hotel. We opted to sleep with the window open, at which point we discovered that the church bells (our room faced them) rang all night long. We asked the front desk to verify, and were rather rudely told that this is normal in small towns. Turns out this is a topic of debate in Switzerland. Don't stay here if you're a light sleeper or need cooler temps to sleep (we stayed in July). We wished we would have picked a place closer to the train station in town as well. There are fewer restaurants on this end. The room was decent, but lacks a refrigerator (we like to buy snacks and fruit to save money). The hotel also nickel and dimes you for everything. Need a fork or spoon for your own food? That'll be between 0.5-1 francs. Need hot water? That'll be 3.5. Honestly, when you're paying 200+ per night at a place, these things should be gratis.
Can’t ask for a better location in the area - beautiful lake view rooms. Clean and spacious room. Most of the staff were great, except for one lady in the breakfast area who was very rude and impolite. 2 of the 3 mornings they ran out of croissant and few other breakfast items 1 hr before closing time and did not care to replenish even when we asked. Running out 1 hr before closing time is unacceptable on a continuous basis. Note: this hotel does not have AC or ceiling fans. We traveled in end of June and it was hot ! The front deck did give us table fan to manage, but looks like they have only limited table fans too. So if you’re traveling in hot summer, beware of the cooling situation.
We had an incredible stay at Brienzerburli. The apartment exceeded our expectations with its spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and stunning lake views. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fantastic experience!
Great location and breathtaking views. Room was rustic and definitely the bathroom could do with some updating. Reception was very friendly and spoke very good English. Nice and central location for access to other attractions around the area. Included is a view from our balcony
What a finding! We stopped here after a day in the Jungfrau. The food was so delicious. The price is what you expect for Switzerland (spicy), but it was worth the experience. Oh! And the view, OMG. Make sure you have a table by the window if it is sunset time. Enjoy
