We just returned from a three week adventure in Switzerland and Austria, curated by Bucher Travel. I am blown away by every aspect and element of their services. Our trip was flawless from arrival to departure. The hotels chosen were marvelous, and the travel arrangements which included private limo transfers from our accommodations to train connections was superb! Virtually every part of our journey was planned out perfectly, including daily private tours of each city we visited. Guides were all exceptional! Totally impressed with Bucher. If you are traveling to Switzerland and Austria, there's no other way to go!

My husband and I are now senior citizens (hard to believe, but these things happen) and decided we no longer wish to drive ourselves when we go to Europe. While it allowed us to go to out-of-the-way places, not driving ourselves avoided lots of, um, “discussions" in the car: "I told you to turn left!” “OMG, we’re on a 'pedestrain only' street!” We wanted to spend at least 2 weeks visiting Switzerland so we could really see it, but couldn’t find a tour that lasted that long or went to places we didn’t care to visit. We played around on the computer and very, very luckily found Bucher Travel. We had many ideas as to what we wanted to see and sent them to Bucher. We worked with one of their staff (Eveline Jufer, a gem!!) who made many suggestions to make the trip work very smoothly, adding things we couldn’t possibly have known about, recommending smaller villages to visit from nearby bigger cities. At our request, she recommended a variety of hotels (which we chose to book ourselves) and a number of restaurants in each city we visited - and every one of her recommendations was excellent. She arranged for guides who were knowledgeable, funny, often with interesting personal stories. The drivers she arranged were also excellent: helpful, friendly, had ideas of things to see on the way to that day’s destination. And, very important to us, she factored in a lot of time on our own to wander as we pleased. There was not one hiccup on the trip - not one. Hiring Bucher Travel allowed us to go to all the places we wanted to visit on our time schedule, just as if we were were driving ourselves. She also arranged for us to take the Golden Pass train and it was a must-do! She also arranged for our train out of Switzerland - Bucher is a one-stop shop, very good at all they do. We recommend Bucher Travel very highly and would hire them again in a nano-second. I wish we could find an organization like Bucher in every country we visit.
