The staff at the residents' registration office don't deserve even one star. The only exception is the trainee, who tried very hard but was overwhelmed, as such a case isn't an everyday occurrence. I emigrated 21 years ago and am now, at 63, visiting my sister for the holidays. My backpack, containing all my documents and money I had borrowed from my sister, was stolen in a burglary. I filed a police report, and on that occasion, I was identified by a photo ID. These ladies, Zollinger and Maag, were very kind and helpful, which cannot be said of the ladies at the Dürnten town hall. When I wanted to apply for an identity card after making inquiries by phone, it was refused! I was also refused to register my residence indefinitely! When I mentioned that I had no money and was looking for a Joop, I was told I could ask my sister for help again. I replied that my sister is already at the upper limit of her budget. (Incidentally, none of the employees were willing to lend me any money.) One employee told me I also needed health insurance. I told her that, if I was correctly informed, everyone in Switzerland receives basic health insurance. Either she didn't want to know this, or she didn't want to register a Swiss citizen. I was aware of the legal requirement at the time. Perhaps it's due to a lack of training. I also missed the human touch and helpfulness I'd expect from a Swiss citizen living abroad. I am 100% convinced that I would have received support abroad. If anyone has a different opinion, I'd be interested to hear it. The Swiss expat, who sometimes feels ashamed of such people, wishes the ladies all the best. Perhaps this letter will also help others affected. The Swiss expat H. Steiner
It's fair to say, the Dürnten municipal administration is fantastic. I'd especially like to mention Adi Hollenstein, a true original, a real character. Once a Dürnten resident, always a Dürnten resident.
In this municipality, there were employees who didn't perform their jobs as expected. To this day, I'm still waiting for an apology from one of them, but despite sending a letter, I've never received anything. I think you all believe you're better than everyone else because you work for a municipality.
A lazy, money-grubbing, and inhumane community that serves its citizens in a container. And has been doing so for years. Apparently, the people aren't refined enough to be served in the main building.
I've been officially dead for a year now, for tax reasons. Nevertheless, I'd like to take this opportunity to commend Adrian Hollenstein for his expert advice. Thank you.
MEGA - Absolutely fantastic community! Very accommodating and service-oriented.
