The collaboration for the conversion of an expedition vehicle based on a 7.5-ton Mercedes began very promisingly. Many promises were made, but almost none were kept. Christian is eloquent and quite charismatic. The Leimowerk website advertises conversions for vehicles up to 7.5 tons, as well as energy concepts tailored to individual needs, etc. The reality is quite different. There were massive cost overruns, missed deadlines, and discussed concepts couldn't be implemented due to a lack of expertise, time constraints, and other issues. The technical equipment he intended to install might be sufficient for campers up to 3.5 tons, but I'm not sure. Certainly not for anything above that. 19 defects had to be rectified. Christian's statement: "That's normal for a project like this." NO, Christian is not! (See also below, other companies involved.) For you, this is normal, the way you operate. The main thing is to finish quickly, next job… There's never a shortage of excuses, explanations, and blame. A small excerpt from the list of defects: _ Electric heater not connected; see photo _ Unapproved Wago connectors used for outdoor use; see photo _ UV filter connected to 24V instead of 12V and incorrectly connected to the pump. Only correctly connected after the third complaint; see photo _ AC/DC wiring diagram also incorrect in the second version; see photo _ Measuring probe too short (50cm) in the drinking water tank instead of 70cm. _ Winch installation; Lifepro4 not charged, unsuitable charging booster, fuse with a loose connection… and much more. ...` `` The main thing is to finish quickly, next job, next order… `` ``` ``` ``` The main thing is to finish quickly, next order, next order… next order, next order… `` ``` Excuses, explanations, and blame are never insufficient. ``` ``` ```` ```` This multitude of defects could easily have been avoided if the work had been carried out according to best practices and thoroughly inspected. The CHF 108 per hour charged is completely disproportionate to the work performed. Caution is also advised when criticizing their work: I quote Christian: "I received your disrespectful, unprofessional, and rude email. Thank you for that." For the record, I would like to mention that all the defects were rectified by Leimowerk after countless emails and weeks of discussions. Any concession from Leimowerk was categorically refused. I had to bear the travel expenses of two 900km trips, diesel, tolls, other travel costs, etc., myself. I quote Christian: "It's not my fault you're so far away." Therefore, always stay close to the workshop when driving an expedition vehicle. For the record, I would also like to highlight some positive aspects: Dominik, the young employee, is proactive, interacts with you as the customer, and works very conscientiously. His work was flawless. Thank you! It is important for me to emphasize that the companies Raphael Meier, Larag, Mobas, and Füss Mobile did very good to excellent work. These four companies performed significantly more complex and extensive work and, strictly speaking, together only delivered five defects. Functionality was hardly affected, and the issues were resolved immediately and without discussion! These companies are absolutely top-notch! With a project like this—an "expedition vehicle" for multiple continents—it is crucial to have a partner who is at least capable of implementing what has been agreed upon. I can rely on Christian completely. A friend recommended LEIMOWERK to me. I brought the solar panels, inverter, and LiFePO4 battery to my home and then to LEIMOWERK. Christian expertly and flawlessly installed the solar panels in my FIAT Ducato. During the installation, Christian contacted me via WhatsApp to say that the battery I had already purchased didn't fit my Fiat Ducato. He recommended a special under-seat battery, and I agreed with his recommendation. He arranged for the special under-seat battery to arrive overnight, so I could pick up the motorhome the next day and immediately set off on my vacation. During our two-week holiday, I was extremely satisfied with the performance of the solar system and the battery. Endless power! Thank you, Christian, for your excellent work and recommendation.
