Nice hotel with good location as I travelled by train and it's a short walk from the train station. Very friendly staff. Room was good but facing current hotel expansion construction project. Bathroom is good, but tub is a bit challenging …
Well, a 2/5 isn't a good score, and it's rare that I give a low score, in fact, it's the first time. Let's start with the positives, but this will be quick. The rooms are clean, and that's it for the positives. Moving on to the staff, who were just friendly, but borderline rude. We asked for a quiet room, which we got... or so we thought. The first problem was that the room overlooked the church bell tower, which rang randomly every hour, half hour and quarter hour throughout the day and night. Then, despite having checked the location, this hotel is not on the main road but on a side street, which does not prevent heavy traffic during all day long On top of that, there was construction work going on below the hotel, which started at 8 a.m. and ended at 5 p.m. On top off all, the room overlooks three terraces, so guests laughing and drinking disturb everyone until late in the evening. The worst : At CHF 250 per night, the breakfast isn't even fit for a canteen. There's no choice of hot drinks; you're brought a thermos of coffee, a little milk, and that's it. The morning at 8:30 a.m., the jars of (industrial) jam were empty...The industrial pastries were also very poor quality. And I almost forgot the flies at 8.30 in the morning, which accompany you throughout your stay. It's appalling. So for us, it's never again. For those of you reading this review, you have been warned.
We had room 205 with balcony. Despite being quite big, Hotel Kreuz manages to be cosy. Our room was fairly simple but it was fine and it worked. Not too many frills in the room but we still felt good in it. Very friendly check-in staff. We …
We stayed here for one night on the Via Alpina trek. This is a very pleasant, large hotel with good sized rooms and immaculate bathroom. Our room had a small balcony which was nice to sit out on. There is a nice ambience about this hotel …
The hotel itself is dated but fine. The reception staff are rude and curt with now hospitality whatsoever. The food is terrible. The dinner they served was inedible and only showed how little the chef must care. There are much better places on the area.
Our junior snow sports team regularly stays at Hotel Kreuz and also Hotel Simmenhof multiple times per season and we love it. Has everything we need, great value and great staff will definitely keep coming back again and can’t recommend them enough.
