Lovely place, good parking. Was crowded on a Monday afternoon. Food was delicious. But as a tourist, I was really shocked how expensive coffee and tea was! 2.95 CHF while it's 0.7 CHF ($1) in Singapore! Couldn't sign up as an Ikea family and friends member on their website though because first they didn't have Singapore as a country to select in the drop down list, and second, when I selected another Asian country, the page couldn't load through. Maybe it only works for a few European countries. Overall, it was a good experience.
At Ikea Tempe NSW Sydney Australia, Ikea's returns policy allows me to return a product if I want to exchange it for a different size. However, at Ikea Tempe, in the spares and returns department, Mr. Santo and his manager, Adam, told me I couldn't return my product for a different size, even though it was in perfect condition and within 365 business days. Mr. Santo even reiterated that I couldn't test the products or sleep on them and then return them, and that he had been working there for 10 years.
I recently had an issue with a wardrobe I bought from IKEA in Bern, but I had a great experience with their customer service. Malik and his colleague were incredibly helpful during the return process and even arranged for a replacement wardrobe without any hassle. The staff made sure everything was sorted quickly and efficiently—great service! The store itself is huge and has a wide selection of everything you could need for your home, from furniture to home accessories. Plus, the parking is very convenient with a large lot, and it only costs 1 CHF for parking, which is a great deal. Also, don’t miss the restaurant! The hotdogs are only 1 CHF, which is such a nice touch after shopping. I’ll definitely be coming back to IKEA Bern in the future! Highly recommend!
The best vegetarian Hot Dog. The Vegidog for only CHF 1 .- and it's tasty like hell. I go again inside instead of going home. Have a look on the foto how the vegetarian hotdog looks.
WARNING: Major hidden fees and deceptive pricing with the Assembly Service (Sieber Solutions AG). I strongly recommend buying the furniture but avoiding the official assembly service at all costs. 1. Deceptive Pricing: The IKEA website estimated assembly costs at ~CHF 240 during checkout. After payment, the actual quote sent to me was CHF 994—nearly 4x the advertised price. 2. Service Failure: The assembly partners (Sieber Solutions AG) arrived, claimed they couldn't find parking immediately, and simply left without calling or waiting for a permit. 3. Refusal to Refund: IKEA charged a CHF 100 "travel fee" for this visit where zero work was performed. They are currently refusing to refund this fee despite the contractors being the ones who abandoned the job. Great products, but the assembly service is a trap. Hire a local independent handyman instead.
Huge compound. Every time we have to go there I know I will have to walk kilometers inside the store.
