What I noticed about Switzerland is that they always give you chocolate as a compliment. But chocolate aside, the room was nice. However, you don’t get a kettle in your room, and you have to close the bathroom door when using hot water because they have a very sensitive smoke alarm. You have to pay 200 euros if the alarm goes off. But they do provide a kettle, a microwave, and hot water at the reception that you can use for free. Overall, very nice neighboorhood, nice staff and nice food.
VERY VERY BAD! 1. The guy (bald guy) on Receptionist very sucks. Not helping at all. 2. The floor of the bedroom leaking. End up with flood in the room and no one help. And the reception was empty. No one there
Unfortunately, our stay at City Hotel in Brunnen was disappointing. We had two rooms, and both had issues that pointed to poor standards. Hair was found in one of the showers, suggesting the room hadn’t been properly cleaned. The duvet …
Step one: don’t book this hotel. Rooms are small, dirty and poorly designed. No air conditioning or any ventilation. Beds are like hostel beds or worse. They are very low and lumpy. Building in desperate need of renovation
Great location and really friendly staff at the hotel, as well as the restaurant. However, everything is extremely outdated. The rooms were okay, but the electrical plugs for some lamps were broken and looked kind of dangerous. The bathroom was really small... Overall a nice stay but some things were definitely not worth the money, sorry.
Old hotel with equally old equipment and facilities. This is the first time I have stayed in a 4-star hotel that requires you to close the door when taking a shower (the bathroom very very small and for those who are afraid of narrow spaces, this hitel is not recommended. Its almost very difficult to move) and not to boil water in the room. If you need hot water you shoukd go down to the lobby (very small as well). Small room size, the pillow is thin like a paper. And some of the carpet in my room are damaged. No air conditioning and poor ventilation. There are no amenities at all even though I asked directly at the front desk. Since we booked the room from the agent, we complained to them and they said someone will help us and asking to meet him the lobby. Unfortunately, he was angry. Then asked loudly, what time did you check in? why are you only complaining now?Then he asked which rooms had thin pillows, then I said that on average all the complaints were thin (we book around 9 rooms), he didn't accept that, he said "it's impossible, all of them. Try to tell me which room number needs to be fixed." The breakfast is bad, the fried rice provided is cold and there is no choice of bread, only one type. The restaurant is also less hygienic, in a closed area there are many wild birds flying here and there. From all the facilities available, services and the way they solved the problems, I don't think this hotel deserves to be a 4 star hotel, specially in Switzerland. If you don't want to ruin your vacation I think this hotel should be avoided.
