📍 Spiez Village @ Lake Thun, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland Scenic Lakeside Stopover with Castle Views We dropped by Spiez while transiting to Kandersteg, and it turned out to be a lovely short stop. The village, nestled beside Lake Thun, offers a postcard-perfect view—calm waters, a historic castle, vineyards on the hillside, and snowy peaks in the backdrop. Although it was a quick visit, we had time to admire the peaceful surroundings and stretch our legs near the lakefront and Spiez Castle area. The atmosphere was quiet and refreshing, a nice break between train rides. 🧭 Tip: Even a 30-minute stop here is worth it for the views. Grab a coffee by the lakeside if time allows.

Beautiful station at the backdrop of the Thunnersee lake, lush green sights! Took a train from Visp to Here and then went further ahead to Interlaken with a changeover.

It’s a beautiful station, where you get an amazing view of the lake strait from the station entrance. The connections are brilliant here to many other popular and major Swiss cities. You could get off here if you want to do some water activities, swim, kayak and so on.
I've never been to Spiez before. I am glad we made this stop over here when travelling to Zweisimmen. The village is very beautiful, tiny, clean and well organised. There is a very well maintained castle by the lake. You can enjoy a coffee inside the castle area and enjoy the view towards the alps.
