I'm writing this review because we were very disappointed with the quality of the skis we received. They were advertised as budget-friendly, but we never expected them to be such a waste of time, energy, and money. I understand there are various levels of quality depending on price, but I believe the staff should ensure that even budget-friendly skis perform properly. These were the worst skis we have ever tried—heavy and difficult to insert our boots into. While the staff at the counter was friendly, it's important for them to ensure that when customers request budget-friendly skis at 43 CHF for a set, they actually work. This experience turned what should have been an enjoyable opportunity into a frustrating one.
I had an horrific experience renting at Marty Sport close to Hoch-Ybrig ski resort. After I had a bad fall hitting somerhing hard on the slope, my material had a small ditch. When I showed them what happened, it turned out there was no insurance whatsoever (which he never told us when we picked it up). The opportunist owner claimed it was unrepairable and made me pay the full price of a new snowboard: 580 CHF. For an old model and well used. Further on the owner did not even take the effort to make a proper invoice of what happened for my insurance. I would recomment you don't pay if this happens to you, because ones he has his money made, he will just not reply to your email and give any service at all. Given the retail margins I suppose he made around 300.- profit on this for doing nothing at all. I would strongly not recomment this place! ---- Just be honest: its a small ditch and could have easily been repaired. See Image. I had an estimate made by a professional repair shop: for 40.- they could have fixed it. Shame on you!
Excellent quality and service. Thanks!
Equipment was damaged and seems to be overused. The skies won’t clip on sometimes and parts of the skies were coming off. Really don’t recommend this place for gear rental
We rented snow shoes as a group, charged once doubled the sticks and one shoe broke during the beginning. That can happen but the reaction of the owner, asking if we knew what a cell phone is and that we should pay for it was really disappointing. In the end we did not pay for it but didn't like your treatment and the fact that use of items was not taken into account.
I reserved ski equipment online for three days and paid 200 Swiss francs. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the reservation and informed Marty Sport of this on the first of the three days. While it's acceptable that I was charged the full price for that day, I find it unacceptable that I received no refund for the other two days. I will avoid this shop in the future.
