This has absolutely nothing to do with an auction. Machines are auctioned off, and the current terms and conditions state that a minimum price is set for each machine. We successfully completed the auction for a machine. Then, a Surplex employee called and informed us that the minimum price was 2.5 times the asking price and made us an offer at that amount, plus an 18% sales commission and VAT. This auction on Surplex works according to the following scheme: If the desired selling price is exceeded, the customer might get the machine for the winning bid. If not, the machine is not sold at the winning bid. A reputable approach would be: The listing would state the minimum price with a direct purchase option. The buyer could then decide whether or not to buy the machine at that price. If no minimum price is specified, the machine must be available for purchase at the winning bid. What's going on here is simply appalling and unprofessional. NEVER AGAIN! Best regards from a dissatisfied customer who successfully purchased a machine at an auction!
