We absolutely loved our stay at this charming hotel in Wassen. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and everything is spotless and beautifully maintained. The décor is especially lovely, with tasteful paintings and artworks throughout that give the hotel a refined yet cosy atmosphere. We visited during carnival season, and the hotel serves as a gathering spot for the local bands for food and drinks, which made it feel like a truly special place at the heart of this little town. Just a short drive from Andermatt, it’s a perfect base for a ski holiday. Highly recommended!
A bit difficult to get to if you are not driving, but you definitely won't regret for the stay. Breakfast is great, the host is so welcoming and friendly. Overall, it's an excellent experience that really made my day.

I recently stayed 2 nights at Hotel Gerig in the beautiful village of Wassen. I arrived by the #1 bus from Altdorf and the bus stop was literally 25 m to the hotel. I was a solo traveler hiking the area, had a double room with shared toilet …
Horrible attitude from one of the service staff members (Russian girl) at the Restaurant. She was rude and unfriendly. Asked for feedback after meal and when we gave our honest feedback she made rude comments and rolled her eyes. She only cleared our table and the girl who served us was very nice and everything else was good except for the burger which was not real meat and was totally overcooked!
Super nice staff, clean rooms, beautiful decorations and also the food in restaurant is nice.
