I can certainly understand that reading the heating meters isn't the most exciting job. Nevertheless, please treat the premises with respect (don't knock over furniture and leave it lying around, barge into rooms and leave doors open, walk across all the carpets with your shoes on, etc.). After all, it's someone's home. And a little friendliness can't hurt, even when you're not particularly fond of doing a job.
