Sulwald Stübli — Beim alten Haus 4071, 3822 Isenfluh, Switzerland

Llegamos a Sulwald un día que de pronto se tornó tormentoso. Resulta que el cambio climático fue algo maravilloso porque nos envió al Sulwald Stubli. Es un pequeño lugar maravillosamente acogedor que invita a conversaciones amistosas y reuniones cálidas. Nos sentamos en una mesa con gente encantadora de todo el mundo. Pero lo mejor estaba por llegar... la comida increíble. Tuve el increíble Stubli Hot Dog y mi esposa comió el Knödel mit Boullion, que pensó que podría haber sido el mejor regalo de nuestro viaje. El servicio fue maravilloso y atento. ¡No te pierdas este lugar!

¡Tuvimos un almuerzo increíble en Sulwald Stübli! Sé que en las imágenes puede parecer un simple sándwich y sopa. En realidad, era una comida fresca de la granja a la mesa. Creo que mi marido lo dijo mejor. Dijo que era el mejor sándwich de salami que había probado jamás. ¿Yo se, verdad? Decidí optar por la sopa del día que viene con queso de montaña y pan. ¡La mejor decisión jamás tomada! Era una sopa de calabaza amarilla con toques de curry. ¡Fue fantástico! No estoy seguro del nombre de este queso de montaña. ¿Es Sulsalp? Todo lo que puedo decir es que estaba delicioso y muy bien presentado con flores silvestres espolvoreadas sobre el queso. Todo fue muy satisfactorio con el pan recién hecho. Una comida ligera y refrescante. Pensamos en compartir la fondue de queso, pero era un día inusualmente cálido. Otro elemento del menú que me llamó la atención fue la bola de masa de queso tirolesa. Me encantaría probarlo algún día con una ensalada si alguna vez regresamos a Sulwald. También probamos su exclusivo té helado, que tenía un sabor a hierbas. Tenía un sabor refrescante y combinaba totalmente con el paisaje natural y el ambiente que nos rodeaba. Nuestro camarero también fue maravilloso y amable. Ella nos hizo sentir bienvenidos. Realmente fue un hermoso día.

Una joya escondida en la zona. Hermosas vistas del Jungfraujoch y un lugar sereno de vistas y tranquilidad. Se puede acceder a este restaurante en la cima de la montaña con el teleférico Isenfluh/Sulwald, que cuesta unos 14 euros ida y vuelta. Comer y beber es un poco caro, pero como está en Suiza y en la cima de una montaña, está bastante bien.

Just ordered a couple of drinks from here, after getting the cable car up from Isenfluh. Thought this might be a ‘budget’ way of getting a view of Eiger, Monch & Jungfrau at a quarter of the cost of going up Mannlicken & hiking the Panoramaweg on the other side so we did this first & yes you do get a good view of the mountains but it’s simply not as good as the other side imho. However, It’s fun driving up to Isenfluh through the spiral tunnel & then catching the cable car. The bonus of going up this side is that it is a lot quieter than the other side of the valley, so if you want to get away from it all, this is probably your spot! We were going to hike to the Lobhornhutte but it was a very hot day & we were simply too tired after weeks on the road by this point so opted against it. Would conclude that Sulwald is a nice, relatively peaceful place to just chill for a couple of hours as we decided to do.

This place was an incredible experience for us. On our way up to Lauterbrunnen we were stopped by police becuase of a running race. Instead of turning around we asked them what's up that side road and they said go have a look. Wow, a nice drive up to a small village with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains with nice homes perched on the mountain side overlooking the valleys below. We had a quick coffee at the Cafe there and the guy told us about the small gondola uo to the top of the mountain where we could see where the cows go in the summer time. A few bucks later we were on our way up the mountain. When we got to the top there was a great little eatery at the gondola landing site. We sat there and had a small platter of local cheeses and other bits and pieces while we looked over probably the most beautiful views we had ever seen, with Lauterbrunnen well below us. After a quick eat we walked around the farm lands along some tracks to open uo the views ever further. The pictures I have attached are lovely and provide great memories for us, but they, by no means account for the grand vistas and awe you will feel when walking around up here. After later visiting the busy Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, we decided our trip up this mountain was the highlight of our time in Switzerland. Do yourself a big favour and poke your nose up this road and keep following it until you see what I mean!

We had the great luck to go there on a stunning (sunny and clear) working day. Meaning we were almost alone and we had no problems to sit on the terrace. I’ve been there other times and it was very crowded and impossible to sit outside. We ordered a classic fondue with potatoes, and it was perfect: taste and quantity. Being there, with that view, being hungry and taking a fondue and a beer was just amazing. Also the waitress was extremely kind. The capuccino and cake were also great. I totally recommend this place, but in high season, better to book in advance.
