Restaurant Eiger Wengen — Wengiboden 1348F, 3823 Wengen BE, Switzerland

Étonnamment, le meilleur repas que nous avons eu en ville pendant une semaine. Bien sûr, prendre des bières dehors sous le soleil de l'après-midi était amusant, mais les vrais secrets se trouvent à l'intérieur pour le dîner. Chacun de nos repas était fantastique - à la fois en termes de présentation et (plus important encore) de goût.

Malheureusement, certaines des critiques négatives concernant un certain serveur se sont avérées vraies. En tant que dîner seul, j'ai reçu un traitement condescendant alors que j'ai remarqué que le même serveur montrait une attitude enthousiaste complètement différente envers un groupe plus important. Il a même eu le culot de demander un pourboire à la fin. Rare en Suisse. La nourriture était correcte. Mes deux étoiles étaient principalement dues à l'emplacement idéal du restaurant à côté de la gare de Wengen. Je ne le recommanderais pas, il existe de meilleures options à Wengen.

Nous voulions manger un rosti traditionnel et n'avons pas été déçus de ce que nous avons reçu. Le rosti était magnifique, tout comme le dessert. Le service était très sympathique à notre arrivée et à notre table, même s'il n'était pas le plus attentif tout au long de notre visite, mais cela ne nous a pas dérangés car nous n'étions pas pressés. Ça vaut le détour.

This place deserves more good reviews. I had my first Swiss beef Zurich style and their mushroom risotto and I tell you it's not missing any flavors.. I love every bit of them and cleaned the plate... the beef plate had this hashbrown potato and its cooked to perfection with the crunchiest crust you'll ever have but not burned... the risotto has an aldente rice with the best mushroom flavor punch. Service is great!!

After multiple trips to Europe this was the first time ever my husband and I faced open racism. Went here twice trying to just have a quick drink and snack. The first time we were turned away saying they are closed despite the place being visibly open and other guests walking in, they didn’t even ask if we just wanted a drink or were interested in ordering from their kitchen menu which might not have been operating at that time. The server told us to come back at 6. We could see other people being served beers and coffees and we were speaking and even an hour later when we walked by. When we came back at 6pm we were this time again let into the restaurant by another man and the man looks at us and says sorry we’re fully booked. Didn’t bother asking if one of those reservations was ours. There is a clear racial element in play. It was one of the most insulting experiences. After only the most positive experiences throughout Switzerland this place soured the entire thing. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place like the plague. Every other restaurant in the vicinity in Wengen has been a delight.
