Sulwald Stübli — Beim alten Haus 4071, 3822 Isenfluh, Switzerland

Siamo finiti a Sulwald in una giornata che si è fatta improvvisamente tempestosa. Si scopre che il cambiamento del tempo è stato una cosa meravigliosa perché ci ha portato nel Sulwald Stubli. È un piccolo posto meravigliosamente accogliente che invita conversazioni amichevoli e incontri calorosi. Ci siamo seduti a un tavolo con persone deliziose provenienti da tutto il mondo. Ma il meglio doveva ancora venire...il cibo straordinario. Ho mangiato l'incredibile Stubli Hot Dog e mia moglie aveva il Knödel mit Boullion che secondo lei avrebbe potuto essere la sorpresa più bella del nostro viaggio. Il servizio è stato meraviglioso e attento. Non perdetevi questo posto!

Abbiamo fatto un pranzo fantastico al Sulwald Stübli! So che nelle foto potrebbe sembrare un semplice panino e una zuppa. In realtà, era un pasto fresco dalla fattoria alla tavola. Penso che mio marito l'abbia detto meglio. Ha detto che era il miglior panino al salame che avesse mai mangiato. Infatti, NO? Ho deciso di optare per la zuppa del giorno, accompagnata da formaggio di malga e pane. La migliore decisione di sempre! Era una zuppa di zucca gialla con sentori di curry. È stato fantastico! Non sono sicuro del nome di questo formaggio di montagna. È Sulsalp? Tutto quello che posso dire è che era delizioso e presentato magnificamente con fiori selvatici cosparsi sopra il formaggio. È stato tutto molto soddisfacente con il pane appena fatto. Un pasto leggero e rinfrescante. Abbiamo pensato di condividere la fonduta di formaggio, ma era una giornata insolitamente calda. Un'altra voce del menu che ha attirato la mia attenzione sono stati i canederli al formaggio tirolesi. Mi piacerebbe provarlo un giorno con un'insalata se mai dovessimo tornare a Sulwald. Abbiamo anche provato il loro caratteristico tè freddo che aveva un sapore alle erbe. Aveva un sapore rinfrescante e si abbinava perfettamente allo scenario naturale e all'atmosfera che ci circondava. Anche il nostro server è stato meraviglioso e cordiale. Ci ha fatto sentire i benvenuti. È stata davvero una bellissima giornata.

Un tesoro nascosto nella zona. Splendide viste sullo Jungfraujoch e un luogo sereno di panorami e tranquillità. È possibile accedere a questo ristorante in cima alla montagna con la funivia Isenfluh/Sulwald che costa circa 14 euro per andata e ritorno. Mangiare e bere è un po' caro ma visto che è in Svizzera e in cima a una montagna va abbastanza bene.

Just ordered a couple of drinks from here, after getting the cable car up from Isenfluh. Thought this might be a ‘budget’ way of getting a view of Eiger, Monch & Jungfrau at a quarter of the cost of going up Mannlicken & hiking the Panoramaweg on the other side so we did this first & yes you do get a good view of the mountains but it’s simply not as good as the other side imho. However, It’s fun driving up to Isenfluh through the spiral tunnel & then catching the cable car. The bonus of going up this side is that it is a lot quieter than the other side of the valley, so if you want to get away from it all, this is probably your spot! We were going to hike to the Lobhornhutte but it was a very hot day & we were simply too tired after weeks on the road by this point so opted against it. Would conclude that Sulwald is a nice, relatively peaceful place to just chill for a couple of hours as we decided to do.

This place was an incredible experience for us. On our way up to Lauterbrunnen we were stopped by police becuase of a running race. Instead of turning around we asked them what's up that side road and they said go have a look. Wow, a nice drive up to a small village with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains with nice homes perched on the mountain side overlooking the valleys below. We had a quick coffee at the Cafe there and the guy told us about the small gondola uo to the top of the mountain where we could see where the cows go in the summer time. A few bucks later we were on our way up the mountain. When we got to the top there was a great little eatery at the gondola landing site. We sat there and had a small platter of local cheeses and other bits and pieces while we looked over probably the most beautiful views we had ever seen, with Lauterbrunnen well below us. After a quick eat we walked around the farm lands along some tracks to open uo the views ever further. The pictures I have attached are lovely and provide great memories for us, but they, by no means account for the grand vistas and awe you will feel when walking around up here. After later visiting the busy Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, we decided our trip up this mountain was the highlight of our time in Switzerland. Do yourself a big favour and poke your nose up this road and keep following it until you see what I mean!

We had the great luck to go there on a stunning (sunny and clear) working day. Meaning we were almost alone and we had no problems to sit on the terrace. I’ve been there other times and it was very crowded and impossible to sit outside. We ordered a classic fondue with potatoes, and it was perfect: taste and quantity. Being there, with that view, being hungry and taking a fondue and a beer was just amazing. Also the waitress was extremely kind. The capuccino and cake were also great. I totally recommend this place, but in high season, better to book in advance.
