Soggiornavo nella zona e vagavo oltre il pittoresco Landgasthof a Sumiswald. Abbiamo trascorso un'ora incantevole sotto il portico con un delizioso pranzo a base di salsiccia e patate tradizionali. Ho programmato un ritorno per una cotoletta e una birra, ma il mio programma non me lo ha permesso. Immagino che dovrò tornare indietro!
Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno davvero speciale. Il personale era molto gentile e ha fatto di tutto per aiutare. Camera e servizi confortevoli. La colazione era ottima con una serie di scelte: ingredienti freschi locali. Mi piacerebbe tornarci.
È stato davvero piacevole e tranquillo soggiornare in questo fantastico hotel in stile tradizionale.

A landgasthof is the Swiss equivalent of an Aussie or British country pub and (like the Australian “Railway” or “Commercial” Hotels) they’re nearly always called Bären (bear), Löwen (lion) or Kreuz (cross)). This one in the Emmental village of Sumiswald is my favourite – both for accommodation and for eats! I’ve stayed and eaten here a number of times over the years and had some of the best rösti of my life here. On a recent trip in autumn (game season) we had an excellent meal of local venison served in several courses for the table to share. Good wine list and the breakfast buffet is fabulous too!
We were invited to a baptism celebration. The food was very delicious, I can’t remember last time I ate so much meat. The steak pieces kept coming! A very Swiss traditional restaurant! The restaurant was so clean, and the toilets were spotless clean! Very recommended
