KIFA stands for Crate Factory. In the past, they primarily manufactured beverage crates and pallets. Today, the family business makes high-quality packaging from the CO2-binding raw material wood. The quality is very good. The staff is very helpful and competent. The management is very friendly and responsive to problems. They also have a branch in Märstetten.

We chose an apartment in a new development in Aadorf, where KIFA AG acted as general contractor and was responsible for the timber construction. The decisive factors for our purchase were the advertised sustainable construction and the emphasis on regional and local wood (our understanding: from Switzerland). However, after moving in, our initial enthusiasm dwindled. Resin pockets had developed on the wooden ceilings, causing resin to drip onto the parquet and floorboards. During the discussion of defects, it became clear that the (invisible) wood was most likely from Germany or Austria, and the (visible) wood was certainly from Scandinavia. We would have appreciated significantly more transparency here, as the advertised regionality was a key factor for us. Personally, it would have been better if only regional wood had been used. This way, we would have felt that we were not contributing to deforestation in Scandinavia and unnecessarily long transport routes. Apart from that, we feel comfortable in the property.

Very friendly staff, quick unloading. No complaints. There's a parking lot opposite for overnight stays (no toilets ☹️).
