Ordered item in store as they told me it was available in Thun, I went to Thun and they told me around 4 days to wait… I had to go to a more trustworthy shop to solve the issue…
Unfortunately, the wait times at your service center are enormous. We wait up to 30 minutes even for the simplest question. While there are plenty of staff around, there's only one person actually working at the service desk, and they constantly have to ask for clarification. Unfortunately, there's no official Apple Store in Bern, which forces us to waste our time here and wait indefinitely. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially considering that Apple devices are anything but cheap.
I had a protective glass fitted to my camera. It came with a 2-week warranty in case it fell off or broke. On the same day, it cracked because it wasn't fitted correctly, and then it fell off. They refused to replace it. This was my third protective glass from them in 3 months! Definitely terrible customer service!
The staff were very friendly and helpful on the phone, but in person (yes, I arrived half an hour before closing time – perhaps a bit tight) they didn't really address my description of the problem. The fact that the problem (my 2011 MacBook Pro wouldn't start) was most likely a defective battery wasn't really taken into account. After successfully reviving it, they simply mentioned that the laptop was very slow and that it needed to be plugged in for half an hour to see if it would charge. They ignored my explanation that I had tried exactly that all night, that the battery indicator was showing a battery issue, and that the MacBook usually runs incredibly fast (thanks to an upgrade) and had suddenly become so slow. In the end, they couldn't even sell me just the battery; despite my explanation that I would install it myself, they wanted to do it on-site and charge me 15 minutes for labor. I declined. ``` The solution: I removed the old battery at home (about 10 screws), connected it to the power adapter, and the MacBook runs perfectly. I ordered a suitable battery from Digitec for €102 and installed it the next day. The laptop is like new! Idea for DQ: Some customers are tech-savvy. There's more to it than just the standard customer. Listen to every customer and, importantly, address their descriptions and experiences.
Apparently you can't even answer the phone, so in that case I'd rather pay 100 CHF more to go to Zurich….
