We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Don’t worry about the shared bathroom — there are two just around the corner, always spotless and easy to use. For about half the price of a 4-star luxury hotel, you still get access to all the amenities other guests enjoy. The whole place was very clean and comfortable, truly perfect for our trip. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was a real highlight — a great variety to choose from, even a machine that served fresh butter, which was such a nice touch. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would definitely recommend this hotel!
Beautiful hotel from the outside and great location. We picked the 5th floor because it's supposedly more economical than the other floors. However, at more than 300 a night, the room felt like a sad maid's quarter. The room had no AC, which was probably not uncommon in the area but we wished it was made obvious on their website because it got really hot in August. The very sagging mattress made you wonder if this was where the unwanted mattresses from the other floors go to die. When it came to cleanliness, there was much to be desired - A black hair tie was left on the night stand, which was probably from people who stayed there last. There was also a piece of ramen noddle on the floor (which I quickly recognized as a ramen lover myself). Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful but not the staff at breakfast. On one of the mornings I was in a rush to catch a train. So I got a plate of food and grabbed some pastries to take with me to save time. An asian looking lady with glasses saw me doing that and told me they have to-go boxes for that at a fee. I told her I would just eat them now. Instead of just letting it go, she went on to tell me, "That's fine. But not like that." She sounded like my mother scolding me for doing something wrong. Overall this was not the experience I was hoping to have and would choose somewhere else next time.
Stayed here summer of 2023, and it was the best! I emailed once I made my booking to ask about the shared bathrooms (as a solo female traveller, I wanted to be safe) and they placed me in a beautiful room right next door to the shared shower space, which gave me a huge peace of mind and was very convenient. I'm so grateful for the help they gave me :) The room was very clean and the bathrooms were always freshly cleaned when I used them. The single room had a breathtaking view, I left late in the mornings and came back early just to lounge and relax at the stunning view. It was early summer, but the lack of AC didn't bother me at all because the air was cool in the morning and evenings and it was very easy to open and close the windows. For those thinking of staying here, be aware the elevator doesn't go all the way to the floor, you'll need to take the stairs. For me, it was no problem at all. Other notes: The breakfast is delicious and a huge cost-savings, since I'm a student on a budget and Switzerland was the most expensive place I visited on my backpacking trip. I had a huge breakfast each morning (they had reasonable hours too). The staff were great and the receptionists were super helpful. I felt very well taken care of. They let me store my luggage there before check-in, gave me a map of places to try and some discounts they had with local areas, and they were really kind as I left and returned each day. I also dined at the restaurant there as well and it was maybe not so great service (I think I confused the staff since I was eating alone, and everyone else had 2+ groups) but tasty food nonetheless! If I ever come back to Interlaken, I will definitely stay here! Insanely great value, do not hesitate! Edit: Thanks to the hotel for the kind reply :) Just to prove the amazing view, I added a photo - it was like being inside a painting. My alarm clock was the birds in the morning (and sometimes, the musical church bells)
Interlaken Hotel is too expensive, so I chose this as an alternative, but the bathroom and shower room are shared. I drink beer in the evening, and at night, I have to pack my clothes to go to the bathroom. I go into the shower room, take off my clothes, and shower, but there is no liquid soap, so it's a sad comedy. The morning breakfast is not bad, but it's not good either. It's just so-so.
The receptionist called Valentina was not very helpful when we were trying to book the stay . She was rather annoyed with us , so we ended up booking elsewhere.
