You can get high quality premium products in this store. They also keep local products from local producers here to boost them.
Unlike other reviewers, I don’t find it overpriced when compared to the cost of almost any meal in a restaurant in Gstaad. So in that sense it may be worth shopping here if you have any kind of kitchen at your disposal AND if you could find what you need. However, as a “worldwide gourmet foods” store, Pernet leaves much to be desired. I was unable to find USDA Prime beef (they have local, Australian, and Japanese, the amiable Filipino butcher counter staff said). I bought a ChF 130 rack of lamb and found upon cooking it that it may have been through several thawing cycles, because it utterly lacked any lamb flavor and was (for a supposed gourmet lamb) a bit tough. I may try the Wagyu next week and see if it’s any better. Things I consider “fine foods” that I can find in many everyday shops in France, Spain, and Italy that I couldn’t find here (maybe they are brought out on request?): a reasonable selection of fresh cheese and pate, rillettes, confit of duck, canned cassoulet, premium Spanish and Italian ham, gourmet anchovies and olives. I didn’t check Pernet’s wine selection carefully, though it seemed they stock a range of champagnes that are chilled and ready to drink.
High quality products but crazy overpriced… they are really not respecting their customers because there is no reason for such high prices…
Excellent quality products
Good products but the price it’s as high it can get worldwide…
Amazing store and products but at some price.... then it would be nice if the staff was helpful and at least could say hello
