Extremely beautiful location, clean rooms, helpful staff, peaceful stay! The best part is that you just get off the bus at Kastanienbaum stop and the hotel is there in front of you!! No searching anywhere, no lots of walking.
While the views were very picturesque and loved the private swim beach for the lake. I do not recommend staying there in the Summer. I do understand that we stayed there when it had untypical hot days for weather at the hotel, but we were told to open our windows (no screens) and gave us a plug in to help with the bugs. We were right over the restaurant and had noise till late in the night since the window had to be open for any type of air and over the next day I had welts all over my body from the bug bites. we spent close to 400 a night and there should have been some consideration made for that.
Lakeside room with balcony is just fantastic view and sunny. Very quiet hotel. Good service with friendly staff. Restaurant open all afternoon /evening. Good menu. Relaxing terrace over looking the lake. Pool, hot tub, sauna and steam Room. Free bus ride into old town Lucerne.
Charming hotel in a beautiful lakeside setting, ideal for a peaceful stay. However, the facilities are quite basic — more like a boutique hotel. Breakfast is average with limited variety, and there’s no air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable in summer. Opening windows helps, but mosquitoes are a problem. Service was disappointing: staff were not flexible with room requests, and we were asked to pay extra for an upgrade that was actually cheaper online. Overall, decent value if you're mainly after the view, but expect some compromises.
I would like to give 5 star rate b/c every thing was perfect and special thanks for “Vanessa Wild” for her kindly smile and professional service she helped us with our bags and print tickets to us even dinner menu .. the only thing you need to review is prices!
