If you walk from St. Imier train station, it will take you between 15-20 minutes to get to the "Funiculaire". You will have to pay the ticket yourself (don't worry, you have the option to change the language to English). 5 minutes later you are already at the final stop. From there you will have to walk about 15-20 minutes to reach the first windmills but it's a very nice walk surrounded by nature. You can keep walking until you reach the top of the mountain. Very nice experience!
We had a guided tour of the solar and wind farm on Thursday. It was extremely interesting and informative. The guides went to great lengths to explain everything to us. Until then, we had no idea how many different types of solar panels are available on the market and how varied the efficiency of individual modules can be. We also learned how the wind turbine market has changed in recent decades. This tour is highly recommended.
