We both got the butter chicken here after craving it all day. It was delicious and surprisingly extra rice was free! They also didn’t charge us for tap water here which was nice perk. We ate outside on the patio which had amazing views of Jungfrau. Our food was out within minutes of ordering. Super filling food after a long day of travel. Would recommend if you want some real Indian food in Wengen with a good view of the mountains.
Very tasty and very authentic indian food. Such lovely staff. And the decor is really nice. Loved the location, the ambiance, the staff and the food. Served Piping hot food in alps and such lovely taste. The location is also very nice, near to wengen station and the view from restraunt is also very lovely.
This is the second Golden India restaurant in Switzerland, the first being in Zermatt. The food choices here were leaner with only rice and curries being on the menu with no breads available. We went for chicken biriyani and Palak paneer and rice. We were pretty hungry since our lunch was at 1pm or 2pm. So after nearly 6 hours of no food, these dishes tasted great. But objectively speaking, the food *was* good. They even asked me if I wanted my chicken biriyani spicy and made it too. The staff was very friendly and efficient. There is a good patio seating with a slice of the mountains viewable. The inside seating is less and a bit cramped, but still cozy. Keep in mind that Wengen being a car free town, you'll have to walk to and fro from your hotel to the restaurant. The roads are all twisty with up and down gradients. Better factor that in if you have a heavy dinner. Had a big glass of Rugenbrau and mago Lassi for drinks. The big beer glass for a surprise for me, but a good surprise. Gulab jamoon for dessert was good too. But again, we were famished. The other option was mango kulfi.
Omg this place was such a hidden gem. We were so hungry by the time we got there, it was around 12:30 and we had to walk a good 7 minutes from the train station ‘cause it’s in a no-car zone. But honestly, The walk was kinda cute. We got this curry with rice and a Veg Biryani. Not a ton of options on the menu, but what we had was so worth it. The flavours were On point. And the patio seating? That was so dreamy. Perfect weather, chill vibes, great view, it just felt like the ideal lunch moment.
Very pathetic taste, even we asked make the food spicy it was creamy and sweet. Very rude behaviour there was no one in the restaurant still asked us to stand outside as our order was take away order. Taste wise food is okay if you are Indian and expecting nice food please stay away.
Such a wonderful experience! The food, the atmosphere, 'chacha' the owner as he is fondly called! We ordered channa masala, jeera rice and dal tadka! And it was the best that we have ever had! The ingredients were fresh, so flavorful and soulful.... During our first visit, we were a little late (post the closing time) still chacha and his crew warmly welcomed us for an amazing mixed vegetable and rice! Must try and highly recommended
