In autumn/winter 2019, I booked a 10-day houseboat holiday in Ireland with Marina Travel for May 2020. The advice was good and customer-friendly. So far, so good. Then came Corona, and the marinas in Ireland were closed during our holiday period. Therefore, Marina Travel had to cancel our trip due to force majeure. I then referred Marina Travel to their OWN terms and conditions, section 7.3.1: "The tour operator reserves the right to cancel a trip if it cannot be carried out for compelling reasons (e.g., force majeure, etc.). In such cases, the traveler will be refunded the amount paid. No further claims for damages exist. The tour operator will, of course, endeavor to offer the traveler an equivalent alternative program." Since our group cannot postpone the planned trip, I requested a refund of my payment, citing the aforementioned section of the terms and conditions. ``` Marina Travel has refused to refund the amount to date, is no longer responding to any attempts to contact them, and is violating its own terms and conditions. Unfortunately, legal action had to be taken to compel Marina Travel to comply with the terms of the contract.

Based on our experience, the travel times quoted by Marina Travel no longer match the actual travel times. When we were pressed for time on our boat trip and called for assistance, Mr. Stadler dismissed us as incompetent and unwilling and left us hanging. Never again with Marina Travel!
