The horse entrecote was unfortunately seared too hot, resulting in a dry and tough dish. Furthermore, I had ordered it medium-rare, and it was overcooked. The additional vegetables I ordered were overcooked and uninspired – no breadcrumbs on the cauliflower, no bacon on the beans, and no butter – just poured straight from the water onto the table. The mushroom sauce with the pork steak was bland and uninspired, and we were charged extra even though the herb butter wasn't included – a real shame. There was no bread with the salad, which should really be served automatically. The service was friendly. At over CHF 32 for a pork steak with pasta, they should at least include some vegetables on the plate; otherwise, the price is excessive. The same goes for the horse steak, which cost almost CHF 40. The atmosphere in the dining room was somewhat cold and uninviting. The outdoor area was nice and inviting, which is why we decided to try it. My wife and I have been in the restaurant business for over 20 years; we know how to calculate the costs of dishes and what is made with love and what isn't... Anyone can learn to be a chef, unfortunately not everyone can... In that sense, all the best.
We received exceptionally friendly and welcoming service. The food was very good and served in pleasantly large portions. The inn is one of the few remaining good old-fashioned local pubs in the entire area, but with a fresh, modern feel. From the terrace, you have a direct view of the rooftops with the many storks of Grossaffoltern. This is an added spectacle, especially when the young are still in the nest.
Excellent cuisine made with fresh ingredients and a lovely terrace overlooking the storks. The staff is professional and friendly.
Located right on our route, the inn practically compelled us to stop. Our first impression was more than confirmed by the super-friendly owner.
