What a magnificent experience! The surprise game menu turned out to be a true culinary journey, refined, generous, and rooted in the local region. From the squash soup, with its remarkably fine texture, you can see that the cuisine here is crafted with care and precision. The meats are impeccably cooked: the local chamois saddle and the hare in chocolate sauce achieve a perfect balance between intensity and sweetness. Each plate showcases local and seasonal products, prepared with rare sincerity. A special mention goes to the saffron quince, a marvel of originality and elegance. The portions are generous, with an extra portion for the main course, a sign of true generosity in the kitchen. The cheese platter is impeccable, and the dessert platter, playful and surprising, beautifully evokes a sweet game garnish. All of this is enhanced by an excellent selection of perfectly paired wines. But the most impressive performance remains the performance of the chef and his wife, who work alone in the kitchen—and this for a restaurant awarded 15 points by Gault & Millau! A simply admirable feat, just like the cuisine: precise, sincere, and full of soul. In short: a restaurant where passion for produce, mastery of cooking, and the joy of sharing come together. A place to recommend without the slightest hesitation.
We have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years, and Chef Daniel Jeandrevin has never disappointed us. We came on a Saturday in October at lunchtime for a family meal. The children, aged 2 to 6, received a special menu, and Madame Jeandrevin remained smiling throughout, despite the noise the children made. Gourmet dining in a relaxed atmosphere: what more could you ask for? We chose the "Little Gourmets" menus at CHF 95 and particularly enjoyed the grilled sea bass with saffron sauce and eggplant caviar. But the meats, cheeses, and desserts were also delicious. A highly recommended restaurant. Please note that card payments are not possible due to poor mobile phone coverage.
We had a fondue... the service was very friendly. The food was delicious. I occasionally go there for coffee. I can definitely recommend it!
Impeccable service and food year after year, never disappointing and consistently setting the bar at the very top. Seasonal dishes, a friendly atmosphere, and beautiful decor. The prices are entirely justified. (PS: If you book by phone, you can request a 9-course tasting menu that isn't even on the regular menu, and it's just as excellent!) THE restaurant to visit if you appreciate fine dining.
Excellent address! Fresh, seasonal produce. Great daily menu. Gastronomy cuisine, too, with Gault & Millau 2 toques, is excellent value for money. A great wine list at very attractive prices. Be careful, in winter it's best to call ahead to check availability, as availability is highly influenced by the small ski area located across the street.
We were on the terrace on a sunny late winter afternoon. The very unfriendly staff ignored us for as long as possible and only reluctantly brought our drinks after we had ordered them inside the restaurant. There were no cushions on the cold chairs, and the tables were dirty. Never again.
