Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. We were billed CHF 1,500 for contract termination fees, even though, in our view, the contractual conditions for such fees were not met. Only after considerable effort, external support, and multiple interventions was the case reviewed again, and the amount was finally dropped. The fact that a company initially demands such fees and only waives them after resistance leaves a very negative impression. The time and effort involved were completely disproportionate. In our opinion, this is not a professional way to treat customers.

I consider Helvetia's actions as a public insurer to be clearly abusive: After I complained about the unlawful premium increase, Helvetia reluctantly complied with my request – but at the same time, Helvetia unilaterally terminated my insurance contract. Such behavior is unacceptable, as a public insurer has a special responsibility to its policyholders. Instead of fostering trust, Helvetia uses its position of power to punish complaints, which contradicts the principle of fair and transparent insurance management. Furthermore, this violates the constitutional principle that recourse to the courts may not be sanctioned: policyholders may not be threatened with discrimination or intimidation for exercising their rights.

The insurance company is practically unreachable when trying to obtain information about a claim. After waiting for 15 minutes, we gave up trying to get a response. Unacceptable.
