We had a wonderful stay at Ruedihuus, the hotel and the room were extremely cozy - lovers of antiques will be amazed! The staff was extremely friendly, there‘s a rich breakfast buffet and you can get traditional food for dinner (raclette, fondue, rösti). in winter there‘s not too much sun where the hotel is located but instead you‘re a bit off the center where it‘s wonderfully quiet. big plus: shuttle service from the train station if you arrive by train.
This Historic Hotel is beautifully set in a gorgeous landscape surrounded by mountains. The facade is intricately decorated with paintings and unique bottle glass windows. The food served is very Swiss - lots of cheese & meat. Worth trying their barley soup, fondue or raclette,& their house dessert “Vacherin”. Ambiance is warm & cozy especially at winter time. Service though was a bit slow but it’s a place where you are not pressed for time.
Cannot speak to the hotel experience as we only stopped in for dinner. In comparison to other restaurants in Kandersteg this one provided the most food and quality. The sausage, onion gravy and rosti were delicious. My wife had the chicken breast and a friend had the steak and said it was excellent as well.
Good location and authentic. Access to the spa and sauna at the hotel across the road was key for us. Not many people stayed in our building and the breakfast was a bit lacking.
