Pretty nice place right next to a very strong and marvellous stream. Conveniently located on the trail and a good spot to have a drink or a bite on your way up or down.
Great lunch stop on a MTB trip up from Interlaken. Nice rural vibe, not as crowded as Lauterbrunnen - as it comes at the price of some physical endeavor. Don't let the limited choices on the menue deter you - this is part of the charm of a rather remote and alpine place with a spectacular view. Hikers will start here to explore the fabulous flora of the rear Lauterbrunnental, where even orchids can be seen near the Oberhornsee.
The place is in amazing location in the middle of the nature but the soup is made from powder . Avoid eating here… The only thing I can recommend was the milk. 2£ for 300ml probabil to expensive but yet cheaper than the water.
I love this place. It is so special and will always have a place in my heart. The best beer after a walk. Cheers to my dad, who also loved this hotel before tackling The Obersteinberg and Oberhornsee! RIP JP Wills (died 02/01/22)
Beautiful, peaceful and a nice little bike ride from Lauterbrunnen - not too difficult and takes about an hour for moderate riders. Hire an ebike from the fantastic bike shop in Lauterbrunnen ( next to the Oberland hotel) if you want the easy option but either way well worth the effort. Walking goes on for miles further from here but bikes stop here.
