Non consiglio affatto questo posto con grande rammarico. Ho soggiornato qui e sono quasi partito presto. La prima notte ho fatto una doccia fredda perché non c'era acqua calda. Poi le due notti successive la doccia era appena tiepida, appena sufficiente. Il letto era molto scomodo e scricchiolava così forte ogni singolo piccolo movimento. La stanza non ha prese di riserva, devi scollegare la luce sul lato del letto così posso caricare il telefono. Il menu del cibo era una selezione così piccola e la colazione non è inclusa ed è piuttosto costosa per quello che era. Per i soldi che costa non mi preoccuperei. Ho soggiornato in ostelli con strutture e menu migliori di questo posto. L'unica cosa positiva che posso dire di questo posto è la posizione proprio nel mezzo di tutto e il negozio proprio di fronte. E la vista dalle camere è bella ma non vale i soldi. Mi pento di aver prenotato 3 notti qui. Dopo che me ne sono andato, hanno addebitato un costo aggiuntivo sulla mia carta 10 ore dopo la mia partenza. Assolutamente ridicolo visto che non hanno offerto assolutamente nulla in cambio di non avere acqua per due notti consecutive. NON RESTARE QUI
Non restare qui. Il personale è scortese, le camere sono fatiscenti e mi è stato fatto pagare un sovrapprezzo non una, ma due volte. L'addetto alla reception è stato estremamente scortese al momento del check-in. Mi è stato anche detto che la camera che avevo prenotato non era disponibile, quindi hanno dovuto dare …
L'unico motivo per cui do due stelle a questo hotel è perché tutto il personale della reception era molto gentile e si è fatto davvero in quattro per compensare il proprietario, e sia la camera che l'hotel erano generalmente puliti. Tuttavia, il proprietario è stato ripetutamente scortese con mia madre e odia chiaramente gli americani. Lo abbiamo visto lanciare sguardi scortesi agli altri ospiti americani e lo abbiamo sentito picchiarli. Immagino che dia per scontato che nessun americano possa capire il tedesco. Il modo in cui questo individuo è finito nel settore dell'ospitalità è al di là di me. In aggiunta a questo, l'hotel spende poco per ogni piccola comodità. Ad esempio, abbiamo alloggiato in sette hotel della regione (Baviera, Austria e Svizzera), e questo era l'unico che non offriva colazione o parcheggio, nonostante fosse più costoso. Voleva far pagare 12 franchi l'ora per un tavolo da biliardo in una sala fatiscente nel seminterrato. Inoltre, l'area spa era piuttosto malandata. Abbiamo bevuto qualcosa e giocato a biliardo all'Hotel des Alps proprio in fondo alla strada e abbiamo sentito per caso diversi ospiti che venivano registrati lì. Consiglierei quel posto a questo hotel. È più economico, offre parcheggio, colazione e servizi migliori inclusi!
It’s established. Switzerland is expensive. But this was the next level. You come in mid day and sit at the bar have a drink and have to practically beg for the food menu. This is where it gets interesting: Ordering a fondue For ONE. We confirmed and reconfirmed, just for ONE. Upon the food arrival, we were asked to vacate the bar and move to a table. Mind you, the restaurant is empty. Not long after, we received our bill clearly stating we ordered TWO. We thought this was a joke. We inquired with the waitress, and she claimed this was a language barrier. After this, she proceeded to involve a manager/owner, who stated that if both of us ate it, counts as for TWO. This is some straight Swiss bullshit. The best part, upon writing this review, I noticed other people saying the very same thing. This is a common practice. Beware and stay away.
Nice clean room, well located centrally in Kandersteg with a decent balcony and great view. We ate in the restaurant which was good and the bar area was also nice. Score lowered due to the bathroom. Dated, with a window into the room (no blind etc for privacy) and the ‘shower’ was just a wall mounted shower head above the bath, no option for a stand up shower and the water pressure was next to none existent! I think with significant upgrades to the bathrooms this place could be a perfect option for this location
I almost never write negative reviews, but my experience at Chalet Adler was so appalling it needs to be shared. We stayed at the hotel for a few nights & the reception staff were absolutely wonderful — friendly, helpful, and genuinely accommodating. When the corkscrew broke in my wine bottle, the reception manager kindly stepped in to help get it sorted. His professionalism and kindness were exactly what you’d expect from Swiss hospitality. Unfortunately, the owner was the complete opposite. Instead of showing the same level of care, he chose to berate both the staff member and myself simply because the wine wasn’t purchased at his restaurant. His hostility, arrogance, and abusive behavior were not only unnecessary, but deeply embarrassing for everyone involved. It’s a shame, because the Swiss are rightly known for their warmth and respect toward guests. The owner of Chalet Adler is an outlier — his rude, obnoxious treatment of customers is a stain on the reputation of Swiss hospitality. If you value being treated with basic decency, avoid Chalet Adler. The staff are a credit to the hotel, but the owner is its downfall. After 3 weeks travelling Switzerland this owner was the only rude person I encountered, he is an embarrassment to Switzerland.
